Located on unspoiled Kauai, with its rugged and untouched Na Pali Coast is the luxury resort Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa in Hawaii. It sits on 50 magnificent oceanfront acres along sunny Poipu beach.

To the South you’ll view the beautiful Pacific Ocean and to the North the awe-inspiring mountains of Kauai.

It’s so beautiful here and they’ve done a wonderful job of blending the outdoor designs with nature. Waterfalls are sprinkled throughout the resort. The tropical landscaping is fabulous and flower lovers will be in heaven.

Large, lush lagoon style pool

Large, lush lagoon style pool

There is a large, lush lagoon-style pool surrounded by lounge chairs and sand all around. There may be several children there, so if you’d like a little more privacy, head to the adults only pool with complimentary half cabanas all around offering shade. Full cabanas are available for rent at $45 daily. There are plenty of lounge chairs here and it never feels crowded, even when the resort is full. Cocktail service by the pools is great. You’ll also enjoy the very beautiful lazy river pool, as it’s a great place to while away an afternoon and stay cool.

Poipu Beach

Poipu Beach

The wide stretch of beach offers cove areas and rocky cliffs to climb, as well as large sandy areas to stroll or lounge on.  I would like to note that the beach here is a bit rough and may not be swimmable. You’ll find Shipwreck Beach just to the left a bit better for swimming. This isn’t really a problem as the pools more than make up for this.

Gorgeous ocean views

Gorgeous ocean views

I suggest you pamper yourself with an ocean view room so you can have breathtaking views of the ocean over the beautiful palm trees. You’ll feel the soothing ocean breezes and hear the twittering birds. Imagine how soundly you’ll sleep in this environment and how refreshed you’ll feel when you wake.

Make sure you don’t miss The Bird Lady. She brings macaws, parrots and a cockatoo for you to meet and interact with. Ladies, watch out for Malie, the cockatoo, who will flirt up a storm with your man.

Poipu Bay Golf Course

Poipu Bay Golf Course

This resort is perfect for several couples traveling together, because the guys and the ladies each have something to do separately and then they can experience a romantic evening together. The men will enjoy the 18 hole Poipu Bay Golf Course, while the ladies enjoy one of the best spas in Hawaii, the 40,000-square-foot ANARA Spa.  Tennis lovers will love the 3 plexi-paved courts overlooking the golf course.

Traditional torch lighting ceremony

There are six restaurants, four cocktail lounges, as well as 24-hour room service to choose from. You can enjoy a cooked to order breakfast next to a water cascade at the Ilima Terrace in the morning and then lunch overlooking the golf course.  In the evening, have a cocktail at the Seaview Terrace while watching the traditional torch lighting ceremony then a gourmet dinner afterwards at Tidepools, surrounded by a koi-filled lagoon, where the fish are literally jumping out of the water.

I have been to Kauai, as well as most of the other islands and can make great recommendations to you, based on what you both enjoy. I will also suggest special touches to make your stay very romantic.
