An Unforgettable Luxury Getaway at Sandals Royal Barbados

In July, my husband and I had the pleasure of experiencing the epitome of romance and luxury at Sandals Royal Barbados. Located in the beautiful country of Barbados, Sandals Royal Barbados is one of two Sandals resorts here, with the other, Sandals Barbados, conveniently next door. The All-Inclusive Luxury Experience

For those unfamiliar, Sandals resorts offer an all-inclusive, adults-only paradise on eight different English-speaking islands in the Caribbean. With 18 resorts to choose from, I’ve visited every single one. At Sandals, everything is included – gourmet food, premium drinks, daily and nightly entertainment, and a variety of resort activities like Hobie cats, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboarding. Even scuba diving is part of the package! Craving lobster every day? If it’s in season, just go ahead. Want to try every cocktail on the menu? Feel free. Fancy scuba diving daily? It’s all included.

Our Opulent Stay at Sandals Royal Barbados

We stayed in a Royal Seaside Crystal Lagoon One Bedroom Oceanview Butler Suite with a Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub. Sandals loves their long names, but this suite lived up to every luxurious detail. Located near the ocean, our spacious balcony offered stunning views. The suite was enormous, featuring a king-sized bed, a walk-in shower that could fit a Fiat 500, double sinks, a living room with a couch, and a balcony tub big enough for two. With butler service and 24-hour room service, we experienced true luxury.

First Impressions and Culinary Delights

Despite being exhausted from our overnight travel, we didn’t collapse into bed immediately. Instead, we headed to Schooners Seafood Grill for dinner. I enjoyed one of the best lobster tails of my life, while my husband savored the surf and turf. This delicious dinner was a much-needed treat after a day of airplane snacks.

After dinner, we explored the resort and discovered a Silent Disco event, where guests danced to different music played through individual headphones. It was a unique and fun experience! We also found a bowling alley, video gaming tables, and an ancient banyan tree. The sing-along piano bar, featuring a friendly piano player named Josh, was particularly popular.

Indulgence and Adventure

With the help of our amazing butlers Rashida, Shontelle, and Shaakira, we didn’t have to worry about a thing. They reserved loungers by the pool, brought us pizza and drinks, made dining reservations, and even decorated our bed with flowers and beads.

On our second night, we dined at Butch’s Chophouse, where we enjoyed a fantastic meal that would have cost a fortune elsewhere but was included in our stay. The lush foliage and beautiful flowers at the resort added to the romantic ambiance. I was particularly enchanted by the night-blooming Jasmine, thanks to our butler Shaakira.

Exploring Beyond the Resort’s Boundaries

We ventured outside the resort to St. Lawrence Gap, a charming area with small restaurants and shops. We also enjoyed a few games at Lover’s Lane, the resort’s bowling alley. Our dinner reservation for the third night was at Kimono’s, where a Teppanyaki chef entertained us with tricks and delicious food.

Underwater Adventures and Beyond

The following morning, we had a scuba refresher course, then relaxed in a shaded “bird’s nest” reserved by our butler on the beach. The calm, perfect-temperature ocean was ideal for swimming, thanks to the resort’s breakwaters. I even found some adorable Christmas ornaments at the gift shop.

Intimate Evenings and Romantic Moments

We toured one of the South Seas Royal Rondoval Butler Suites with Private Pool Sanctuary, unique round Love Nest suites with private pools, perfect for a romantic getaway. Dinner that night was at La Parisienne, a French restaurant with stunning ocean and sunset views. Our butler captured beautiful pictures of us during dinner, making the evening even more special.

A Memorable Dining Experience and Farewell

Our special romantic dinner on our balcony, planned by our butler Rashida, was a highlight. With champagne, flowers, and candles, it was a magical evening. We ended the night with a relaxing soak in the rooftop jacuzzi.

On our departure day, we enjoyed a leisurely morning and afternoon at the resort before heading to the airport. This trip reminded me how special Barbados is and how lovely Sandals Royal Barbados and Sandals Barbados are. Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados is a destination I would highly recommend to anyone looking for luxury and romance in their romantic getaway.
